While one pageant organization dethroned its queen, the Miss World Organization (MWO) took time to honor its reigning titleholder, Krystyna Pyszková of Czech Republic, for her exemplary work as beauty queen and as its global ambassador.
On Instagram, the longest-running pageant organization led by Julia Morley, took a pause from its busy schedule mounting its coronation show on May 31 at Telengana, India to laud Pyszková’s “unforgettable reignas the 71st Miss World. Incidentally, her reign started in Mumbai, India.
“Like Václav Havel, the beloved Czech leader and humanist who believed in ‘wisdom and love’ as guiding forces, Krystyna has led with kindness and quiet strength. Like the great Czech composer Antonín Dvořák, whose music echoes with depth, lyricism, and national pride, she too has resonated with beauty that goes far beyond the surface,” the MWO stated.

It further described Pyszková as “smart, funny, and articulate, she always found the right words, as soft as a breeze, as powerful as purpose.”
Not only was she an online favorite, MWO said its reigning queen was simply adored by all.
“The children adored her, fans followed her everywhere, and she always gave her time, even mid-run, for a selfie and a smile. An online favorite. A global role model. A queen in every sense,” it stated.
“As she steps into her next chapter, we know the many doors that opened will lead to a future full of new opportunities and light. Julia Morley CBE and the entire Miss World family thank you for your dedication and a job well done. Never forget: Once a Miss World, Always a Miss World. We love you, Krystyna,” MWO stated.
Miss World’s statement came after its rival pageant, the Thailand-based Miss Grand International (MGI) terminated its reigning queen, Rachel Gupta of India, for breach of contract and unprofessionalism. On the other hand, Gupta claimed MGI reneged on its promises and mistreatment from the management.
In Gupta’s stead, the Philippines’ CJ Opiaza stepped up to become the country’s first Miss Grand International. Opiaza was Gupta’s first runner up in the 2024 staging of the pageant.
Meanwhile, for Miss World 2025, the country is fielding Krishnah Gravidez of Baguio City. She is aiming to bag the Philippines’ second “blue crown” after Megan Young’s historic win in 2013. /edv
