Ian de Leon has appealed to the public to respect his family’s privacy amid growing curiosity about the assets of his late mother, Superstar Nora Aunor.
At the recent special screening of “Faney,” a tribute film to Aunor supposedly for her 72nd birthday, De Leon addressed the inquiries about the assets that his mother left behind.
“It remains confidential,” he told reporters. “What we have been discussing is personal. I hope people will respect that.”
Ian, who attended the screening with his wife, kids, and brother Kenneth, expressed how grateful he was to his fellow actors and the fans who never failed to show their support for Aunor even after her passing.
“Of course, our inspiration here is our mom. Thank God this was released on her birthday […] We are humbled because you know the wholehearted effort they are making to continue Mommy’s legacy,” he said.
Directed by Adolf Alix Jr., “Faney” tells the story of an avid Noranian who learns of Aunor’s death. It showcases the sacrifices and fun moments of being a fan. Ian made a special appearance in the film.

Meanwhile, today, May 26, marks 40 days since Aunor died of acute respiratory failure. Ian and her siblings Lotlot, Matet, Kiko, and Kenneth visited their mother’s grave to mark the occasion.
“It’s been 40 days since you left us, but not a single day goes by without us thinking of you,” Lotlot wrote on Instagram. “Your resting place at LNMB is beautiful, Mommy. Still surrounded by flowers, even after all this time.”
Lotlot then recalled the lesson Aunor told her and her sister Matet as she remarked that it is still hard not having their mother around.
“I couldn’t help but remember when you told me and Matet, “Magmahalan kayong lima, ha (The five of you should love each other).” Ma, hanggang ngayon, ‘yang bilin mo—susundin at isasabuhay namin (Mom, up to this day, we still abide by your request),” she continued.
“It’s still hard, Ma. There are moments when I have so much I want to say, I can’t put it into words. But when I think of you, and I know you’re in a better place,” added the actress./mr
