While currently on their world tour, P-pop girl group BINI dropped their latest single, “Shagidi,” inspired by the traditional Filipino children’s game “Shagidi Shapopo.”

The track is described as a “rhythmic game of follow-the-leader” that gets the listeners moving as it brings to life a Filipino chant game where one player calls the moves and the rest follow in sync.

The song, co-written by Marqueze Parker, Tommy Brown, Courtlin Jabrae, JBach and Angela Ken, was developed during an ABS-CBN Music songwriting camp in Davao last year. BINI Maloi created the single’s cover artwork.

“Shagidi” comes after the girl group’s comeback single “Blink Twice.” BINI, which is currently abroad for their “BINIverse” world tour, also recently launched its first variety show, “BINIversus.”

BINI also recently marked their first morning show appearance abroad after they guested on “Good Day New York” and performed at an Independence Day event in the city.

Given their local and international achievements, the eight-member girl group was also honored with a certificate of commendation by the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai in May.

BINI also became the only girl group that made it to this year’s Forbes “30 Under 30 Asia” list under the Entertainment and Sports category.

For their “BINIverse” world tour, BINI has already performed in Washington, DC (June 3) and is set to perform in Rosemont, Illinois, on June 6.

They are to perform next in Houston (June 9), Dallas (June 10), Las Vegas (June 13), Los Angeles (June 14), Temecula (June 15), San Francisco (June 17), Seattle (June 20) and Vancouver (June 21).

The girl group is expected to celebrate the end of their world tour with the “Here with You: The BINI Homecoming Fan Meet” at the Mall of Asia Arena on June 29.  /ra
