Mylene Dizon revealed she has no plans to leave any inheritance to her sons, as well as to walk down the aisle with her current partner, Jason Webb.
Dizon, who has two sons from her previous relationship with Paolo Paraiso, shared her firm stance on parenting during a recent interview with broadcast journalist Bernadette Sembrano, stating that she is not keen on owning any property at this point in her life.
“I wouldn’t be able to bring it with me [the property]. My policy with my family is that I won’t leave any inheritance to my children. I want them to make it on their own,” she explained in Tagalog.
The “Family Matters” actress emphasized that she is a “disciplinarian” mother because she wants her children to grow up decently and with the knowledge of how to navigate life.
“I’m a single mom and I have to do both jobs, and I’m a mother of boys […] I’ve dated men and I know of some men who don’t know anything about life or don’t know how to navigate your life because they were too spoiled. So I don’t want my children to end up that way. That’s why I’m a disciplinarian because I want them to be well before I let them go,” she said.
Dizon, who proudly shared that she learns all the practical skills she has by herself, said that her priority is to give her sons the “best education her money can buy.”
“That’s the only thing I can give. Sure, I give them five million. What are they going to do with that if they don’t know what to do with it, to manage it, or how to handle it? They will just run it through the ground if they don’t have proper education,” she explained.
When asked why she has no plans to marry, the 50-year-old actress emphasized that marriage is not embedded in her mindset.
“I can’t be tied down. I can’t even be in the city. I’m restless. I don’t like the feeling of being locked in one place,” she said, adding though that she and Webb have been together for 12 years now. /ra
