Barbie Forteza, Euwenn Mikaell team up for horror flick ‘P77’

Barbie Forteza and young talent Euwenn Mikaell are set to showcase their acting chops in the upcoming horror film “P77.” 

In the stills provided by GMA Pictures from the movie, Forteza and Euwenn were captured with frightened expressions. In another photo, the actress was seen plumbing a filthy toilet.

“Some nightmares look a lot like home. Uuwi ka pa ba kung ang bahay mo ay bangungot para sa’yo? (Would you still go home if your house was a nightmare for you?)” read the caption.

The horror flick is directed by Derick Cabrido, the filmmaker behind the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2023 entry “Mallari.” It will mark Forteza and Euwenn’s first on-screen collaboration. 

Aside from Forteza and Euwenn, veteran actress Gina Pareño is confirmed to be part of the ensemble.

Euwenn rose to fame for his role as Tonton in the MMFF 2023 Best Picture “Firefly.” He won Best Child Performer at the FAMAS Awards for this role and also earned a nomination for Best Actor at Gawad Urian.

The young actor recently appeared in the Netflix film “Lolo and the Kid” with Joel Torre and Juan Karlos. He also headlined the TV series “Forever Young” as Rambo Agapito, a 25-year-old man stuck in the body of an 11-year-old boy. 

Meanwhile, Forteza is marking her return to the horror genre with “P77” after she previously starred in the romantic comedy “That Kind of Love” opposite David Licauco.

Forteza is also set to star in the upcoming series “Beauty Empire” alongside Kyline Alcantara, Ruffa Gutierrez, and South Korean actor Choi Bo Min.

“P77,” which stands for Penthouse 77, is set to premiere in July. As of writing, the specific date is yet to be announced. /edv
