Miss World Philippines National Director Arnold Vegafria is overflowing with pride for his queen Krishnah Gravidez, who received the Miss World Asia title at the 2025 Miss World pageant in India.
The Baguio lass was the second highest contender from the Asia and Oceania group at the end of the competition held at the Hyderabad International Convention and Exhbition Center in Hyderabad on May 31.
Thailand’s Suchata Chuangsri, who edged Gravidez out of the continental group’s spot in the final four, claimed the Miss World title at the culmination of the competition and became the first from her country to win the “blue crown.”
“You are a beacon of hope, Krishnah. You’ve made history, and you’ve made your country incredibly proud,” the national pageant organization quoted Vegafria as saying in a social media post on Sunday afternoon, June 1.

Vegafria flew to Telangana, India, to witness the coronation ceremonies, and to show his support for Gravidez. A significant assembly of Filipinos also went to the venue, producing loud cheers that were heard during the telecast
“This triumph is not just a crown—it is the shining symbol of her tireless hard work, unwavering passion, and consistent dedication to her purpose,'” Vegafria added.
Gravidez has also expressed her pride in winning the continental title, by posting a photo of her new sash, along with her “Philippines” sash and the Philippines flag. She also shared a snap of her “first selfie as Miss World Asia” in her pink floral Filipiniana gown with green tassels for skirt.

Gravidez joined the Miss World Philippines pageant last year, after withdrawing her participation from the 2024 Miss Charm pageant where she was supposed to represent the Philippines.
Her 2024 Miss World Philippines batch had already produced 2024 Face of Beauty International Jeanne Isabelle Bilasano, and 2025 Reina Hispanoamericana Dia Mate before she embarked on her own international pageant in May.
“Krishnah’s journey was never easy, but she met every challenge with grace, fueled by a heart full of compassion, kindness, and purpose,” Vegafria said.
“She has inspired us not just with her beauty, but with the depth of her spirit and the strength of her character. Her victory reminds us all that true queens are not just born—they are made through resilience, humility, and the courage to dream big,” he continued.
Gravidez has now become the highest-placing Miss World delegate under Vegafria, who acquired the Miss World franchise for the Philippines in 2017.
Cory Quirino was the national director who produced 2013 Miss World Megan Young, 2011 Miss World first runner-up Gwendoline Ruais, and 2016 Miss World Top 5 finalist Catriona Gray.
Ruais was also proclaimed as Miss World Asia at the 2011 competition, and so was Binibining Pilipinas Karla Bautista in the 2004 contest.
Joining Gravidez as 2025 continental queens are Miss World Africa Hasset Dereje Admassu of Ethiopia, Miss World Europe Maja Klajda of Poland, Miss World Caribbean Aurelie Joachim of Matinique, Miss World Americas Jessica Pedroso of Brazil, and Miss World Oceania Jasmine Stringer Stinger.
As the new Miss World Asia, Gravidez has also snagged the Philippines’ third straight continental title in the recent stagings of major international pageants.
Chelsea Manalo became the first-ever Miss Universe Asia titleholder in the 2024 Miss Universe pageant in Mexico, while Alethea Ambrosio was Miss Supranational Asia and Oceania in the 2024 Miss Supranational contest in Poland. /edv
