Miss World has found a new queen in Suchata Chuangsri from Thailand, who bested 107 other candidates at the finals night held on May 31 in Telangana, India.

But her Miss World journey was no cake work, as the Thai beauty persevered with graceful aura and intellect, until she copped her country’s first-ever Miss World crown.

Aside from her expertise in pageantry, Suchata has an interesting background that earned her the admiration of her supporters.

Get to know Suchata, the new Miss World titleholder with these facts:

A 21-year-old pageant veteran

Before she won the Miss World 2025 title, Suchata, who turned 21 last September 2024, joined the Miss Universe 2024 competition. She emerged as the third runner up in the international tilt, where Danish queen Victoria Kjær Theilvig triumphed as the titleholder.

However, Suchata was stripped off her Miss Universe placement after she was named the representative of her country to the Miss World 2025.

An international relations graduate

Suchata graduated from Thammasat University, one of the leading educational institutions in Thailand, with a degree in politics and international relations. She is also fluent in three languages—Thai, English and Chinese.

As an international relations graduate, Suchata said she sees the Miss World pageant as a platform where she “cannot only represent the beautiful cultures of Thailand, but also address meaningful issues through meaningful dialogue.”

A model

Prior to her pageantry journey, Suchata worked as a model and partnered with several brands. At 5’11, she was one of the tallest among Asian candidates.

Her family runs a hotel business

Suchata grew up on the southern islands of Phuket, Thailand, where her family runs a hotel business, which got her interested in other people’s culture.

An advocate for breast cancer awareness

The Thai beauty queen had a health scare when she was just 16 years old after she discovered a lump in her breast. While it turned out to be benign, this prompted Suchata to launch her project “Opal for Her” where she campaigns for breast cancer awareness.

The project has now become a network of hundreds of doctors, breast cancer survivors and volunteers who promote access to breast cancer education and support for Thai women.

“Each woman has strengthened my commitment to ensure that no one faces these challenges alone,” she declared. /edv
