Weeks after Freddie Aguilar’s death, his wife Jovie Albao continues to remember the OPM singer-songwriter’s life and how Aguilar made good his promise to spend the rest of his life with her.
In her Facebook post, Albao looked back at her romance with Aguilar, sharing photos of their past date at an undisclosed restaurant.
“I was supposed to spend the rest of my life with you. And then I realized, you spent the rest of your life with me. Tinotoo mo masyado yung sinabi mong ako na yung gusto mong makasama hanggang mamatay ka (You lived up to your statement of wanting me to be your partner until you die). Bhabe,” she wrote.
In a separate post, Albao shared a clip of Aguilar doing various facial expressions while she laughed in the background.
“Hanggang kaya ko na ulit tumawa ng ganyan (When will I laugh like this again),” she said.
In a heartbreaking turn of events, Albao also announced the death of her shih tzu Madie, which happened at the time when she and her other dog Scarlette were mourning Aguilar’s death.
“Madie is gone. Madie was an active and cheerful dog, which makes it very surprising. We talked about Madie saving a life,” she said of their pet Shih Tzu which was apparently named after one of Aguilar’s greatest hits, “Magdalena.”
Aguilar died of multiple organ failure on May 27. He was 72 years old. He was laid to rest at the Manila Islamic South Cemetery on the same day. /edv
