The Top 40 candidates were divided into four continental groups: the Americas and Caribbean, Africa, Europe, and Asia and Oceania, with each unit having 10 candidates each.

The semi-finalists were selected based on their winning performances in the Fast Track challenges, closed-door interviews, and other pre-pageant related activities.

Sixteen candidates had already been selected for the Top 40 after winning their respective fast-track challenges.

Gravidez is on a quest to bring the Philippines’ second Miss World crown after Megan Young in 2013. According to the national pageant’s director, Arnold Vegafria, in April, he said that he has a “strong feeling” that she can win.

“This time, we’re expecting another honor and another victory for Miss World. I have a strong feeling that we will get a second crown for Miss World,” he said.
