Even before Miss Grand International officially declare CJ Opiaza as the new titleholder following the resignation of Rachel Gupta of India, she is already receiving messages of congratulations from fellow queens and batchmates in the global tilt.
As first runner-up, Opiaza is poised to be the new Miss Grand International 2024 after India’s Rachel Gupta resigned from her position on Wednesday, May 28, citing allegations of mistreatment and poor living conditions.
The Miss Grand International organization, however, claimed that it had terminated its working relationship with Gupta due to her failure to fulfill her duties on the same day. Meanwhile, the Filipina stunner remained silent about her possible coronation.
Despite Opiaza’s silence, the Miss Grand Philippines organization and the Miss Grand International president, Nawat Itsaragrisil, shared a clip of Opiaza’s journey throughout the Thai-based pageant.
“Being a queen isn’t just about outer beauty — it begins within. Stay tuned!” the caption read.

Miss Grand International 2024 candidates Melisha Lin, Nova Valdez, Layanna Robinson, and Amy Viranya Berry also sent heartwarming messages in the comments section.

The Zambales-based beauty queen is poised to be the first Filipina to bring home the country’s first Miss Grand International crown.
The golden crown has remained elusive to the Philippines since its inception, with Nicole Cordoves and Samantha Bernardo coming close to winning the title in 2016 and 2020, respectively. /edv
