Star Magic addressed the online death threats targeting its artist JM Ibarra, saying it will take legal action if necessary.
The talent management company issued a statement on Wednesday, May 28, after a fan account made a disturbing remark online in which Ibarra, his love team partner Fyang Smith, and their fellow former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate Jarren Garcia were mentioned.
The fan account made threats and said Ibarra’s June show will supposedly be his last because they allegedly “hired a hit man” for him. The netizen further stated that Ibarra is a “thorn” in the “JarFyang,” the pairing of Garcia and Smith.
“Star Magic does not tolerate threats, derogatory remarks, and other personal attacks made online against our artists. These acts have serious and damaging consequences, and we will take legal actions, if necessary,” the talent company said.
Ibarra as well as Garcia and Smith did not immediately comment on the matter.

Ibarra, Smith and Garcia were part of the “Pinoy Big Brother: Gen 11″ which ended last October. Smith emerged as the big winner of that reality show’s edition.
Meanwhile, Ibarra and Smith earlier joined the voice cast members of the Filipino-dubbed version of the South Korean film “Picnic.” The project was the pair’s initial big screen debut.
Prior to this, the love team had their first on-screen feature in the music video of Regine Velasquez’s “Wherever You Are.” /ra
