“What if I just sue you and your ‘source’ for libel?” Abellana wrote, responding to the post from the outlet, which stated that she still “cares” for Rodriguez and that their recent conversations are “paving the way for the possibility of reconciliation.”

The article cited “insiders” and an anonymous source saying that Abellana’s father, Rey, supported her supposed emotional growth and openness to reconnecting with Rodriguez.

Abella and Rodriguez tied the knot in October 2021 after seven years of dating, only to announce their separation a few months later. The actor then flew to the United States to obtain a divorce decree.

In June 2024, Abellana disclosed that the divorce decree obtained by her ex-husband, who is an American citizen, was recognized by the Philippine court, two years after it was finalized in the US.

Five months later, Rodriguez revealed in an interview on “24 Oras” that he was the father of a four-month-old baby boy named Korben, an anagram of the word “broken.” However, he did not disclose the identity of the baby’s mother.

Abellana, on the other hand, previously declared that she was happy and that she became “stronger and wiser” after her failed marriage.

“It was a difficult journey to get to this point but [I’m] confident to say na I’m very happy. [It was] a long, tedious, difficult way to get [here],” she told Boy Abunda at the time.  /ra
