Jaime Fabregas ecstatic over Kiko Pangilinan, Bam Aquino’s Senate comeback

Veteran actor Jaime Fabregas has expressed his satisfaction with Kiko Pangilinan and Bam Aquino’s successful Senate comeback, despite the duo not initially placing in the pre-election surveys.

Fabregas praised the recent election outcome after Pangilinan and Aquino made the Senate’s “Magic 12,” emphasizing that it is a sign of a positive step forward for the nation.

“I’m happy because there are two winners who didn’t appear in the pre-election surveys. Bam Aquino and Kiko Pangilinan. We were all surprised. I think we have to give it to the youth because they really brought Bam and Kiko. What’s happening is good. Good results. And hopefully in 2028, it will be even more progressive,” he told INQUIRER.net during the recent red carpet of his film “Isang Komedya sa Langit.”

Fabregas has joined the roster of celebrities who expressed their positive reactions about Pangilinan and Aquino’s successful senatorial bid. 

This year’s elections saw some celebrities triumph, securing seats in local offices, while a number of showbiz personalities also faced defeat in their public office bids.

Showbiz insider Ogie Diaz, on the other hand, recently revealed that he did not vote for Willie Revillame and Phillip Salvador despite them coming from the same industry. 

Diaz, who has openly campaigned for Pangilinan and Aquino, was also satisfied with the election results, saying, “I’m happy because Bam [Aquino] and Kiko Pangilinan were among those who won the Senate race despite not figuring in prior surveys. I really campaigned for them.”

Meanwhile, Fabregas currently stars as Father Emmanuel Garcia in “Isang Komedya sa Langit” alongside Gene Padilla as Father Javier Salas and Edgar Allan Guzman as Father Juan Borromeo.

The trio brings the story inspired by the tale of GomBurZa, the three Filipino Catholic priests, Mariano Gómez, José Burgos, and Jacinto Zamora, who were executed during the Spanish colonial period.

“Isang Komedya sa Langit” premieres in select Philippine cinemas on May 28. It also features Carmi Martin, John Medina, and Akihiro Blanco. /edv
