As a love team, Barbie Forteza and David Licauco are the definition of “opposites attract,” with their personalities complementing each other. Somehow, their differences extend to their respective ways of knowing when they are close with someone.
On the sidelines of a Makati-based toothpaste brand event, Forteza said she feels close to someone when she can share stories with the person with “no judgment” on both sides, when asked about the topic.
“Siguro kapag nakakapagshare na ako about my life or my day, where I could catch myself actually sharing to that person, and hindi ka niya jinajudge. That’s when I feel close. Mas free na ako makakapag-open up sa kanya (I guess it is when I catch myself sharing about my life or day to a person, and that person doesn’t judge me. That’s when I feel close. I feel freer in opening up to them),” she said.
Meanwhile, Licauco said he feels close to someone when they can bond in silence.
“For me, when I can be silent around that person. I don’t have to talk and just simply be present. That’s when I feel close,” he said.
The onscreen partners were revealed as the latest pair to be part of the toothpaste brand’s campaign featuring Felip (or SB19’s Ken’s) updated rendition of “Moving Closer,” with multiple scenes of the pair being romantic.
“‘Yung eksena na nahulog kami by ‘accident,’ medyo matagal siyang mineasure for the right focus and angle. Feel ko ‘yun ‘yung moment na close na kami (The scene where we fell by accident, we had to find the right angle and focus. I feel like we became closer at the time),” Forteza recalled.
Licauco chimed in, “I guess ‘yung [moments na] hinihintay lang namin ang aming shot, d’un naging close (I guess the moments when we’re waiting for our next shots, that’s when I felt closer to her).”
The onscreen partnership of Forteza and Licauco first made waves in the period-fantasy drama “Maria Clara at Ibarra.” They also worked together in the dramas “Pulang Araw” and “Maging Sino Ka Man,” as well as the film “That Kind of Love.” /ra
