Maymay Entrata’s mom dies after battle with cancer

Maymay Entrata expressed grief as she recounted some of her last moments with her mother Lorna, who died after a two-year battle with cancer.
The actress paid tribute to her mom through her Instagram page on Friday, May 16, showing a video of them walking in the streets of Japan where the latter was based.
“My beloved mother, it is a great honor to have had you as my mom. You bravely faced every challenge and made sacrifices to support our family,” Entrata began.
“I will miss you, mom. I will miss the person who loved me and would love me completely forever. I learned how to love unconditionally from you and I will carry your lessons with me forever,” she vowed.
Entrata then underscored how Lorna’s profound love is their family’s treasure.
“I do not regret all the sacrifices I made just to see you happy. Until we meet again, my dear mother,” she continued.
The actress then reminded her followers to be present and to express their love for their family while they still have the chance to do so.
“Because time will come when their hugs will only be a memory, and the unsaid words will bring heaviness in one’s heart,” she added. “Love wholeheartedly before it’s too late.”

While Entrata did not expound on Lorna’s death, it can be recalled that the actress revealed in April the latter’s cancer diagnosis. Entrata disclosed that she had been flying from the Philippines to Japan to care for her mom.
Aside from Lorna, Entrata said she is also caring for her grandmother who is in Cagayan de Oro and suffers from a kidney problem.
“The public has only seen the happy part of my life in the past two years [because] I am not the kind of person who would share personal stuff. I always build a wall to separate work and my personal life,” she said at the time. /ra
