Vlogger-actress Ivana Alawi gave away P125,000 in financial assistance to a farmer who lost his leg due to an accident and to his child, who also injured his leg in a bike accident.
Alawi, alongside content creator Sassa Gurl, offered a closer look at farming life in the latest episode of her vlog. For a day, the vloggers immersed themselves in rural life as they helped Edwin and documented the work on the farm.
During the introduction, Edwin recalled that he lost one leg due to a calcium carbide accident, sharing, “Kasi po nung nilagyan po namin ng kalburo ‘yung septic tank para huwag po umamoy sumabog, tumilapon po kami sa ibang bakuran, awa ng Diyos buhay pa kami,” he shared.
He shared that he earns around P5,000 every four months from farming, which Alawi calculated to be about P41 per day.
The farmer also shared that his 16-year-old son is in need of an operation to be able to walk again.
To assist with the medical expenses, Alawi provided P100,000 to the family for the child’s operation, along with an additional P25,000 to Edwin for other necessities.
Edwin also made an appeal to the president to acknowledge the struggles of local farmers.
Sassa Gurl expressed her realization of how important rice is after taking on the role of a farmer for a day.
Alawi, on the other hand, emphasized the significance of voting for leaders who prioritize farmers and agriculture, especially in the upcoming midterm elections.
“Let’s support our local farmers. Dapat mas minamahal natin sila dahil grabe ‘yung hirap nila.
